I am so bitter right now...

I bought my Ipod in May, just a regular 20 GB. My dad buys a 20 GB a couple days ago and guess what? Now they've combined the Ipod and Ipod photo so even though we paid they same price, his has a color screen and can hold pictures.

I wonder if there's some way I can upgrade.

Grrr Apple...

This weekend has been kinda hectic, but fun. On Thursday I spent the afternoon with my niece which was fun. We watched the Family Guy movie (hooray for Limewire) and went shopping. On Friday I went to Berkeley and San Francisco with Karen. It was funny, it seemed like everything that could have gone wrong did but we still managed to have a good time. We got lost on Mission, we got lost in South San Fran/Pacifica, I almost ran out of gas, my Ipod battery died, we got stuck in traffic... but we did get to hang out with On2 for a little bit, which was cool because I really wanted to see her before we both leave to go abroad. Her mom brought me some new glasses back from Vietnam, they're very cool.

Today was my last day of work and I'm so glad. I just have to go back on Friday to pick up my last paycheck. When I got home my family was all there and we had a kind of going away dinner for me, which was really nice. It's crazy, a week from today I'll be on a plane, on my way to Brazil.

Here's a few pictures from this weekend:

A few things...

1. I hate working at Marine World. Thankfully I only have to do it until Sunday.

2. "Slumber Party Massacre" is a truly amazing film, haha.

3. "Six Feet Under" was one of the best TV shows ever and the series finale was great.

4.  Janelle, I got your message on facebook but as of now I am too lazy to log into another website to respond, lol. But I'm going to call you before I leave the country.

5. Karen leave. Jazmine sad.

In 3 1/2 weeks I'll be on a plane, on my way to Brazil...

Now that my depature is getting closer I'm getting more and more excited, but more afraid too. Aside for spending Spring Break '04 in Mexico, I've never been out of the country before. I'm really glad that Carter is going on my program though, hopefully we'll write some awesome samba-influenced music to teach our band when we come back, haha. I've been learning Portuguese, just finished my last language CD today. It's a lot like Spanish, but the vowels are different. I like it though, it has this beautiful musical quality to it.

Summer has been alright. I've been working at Marine World to make some money for my upcoming semester abroad, learning to knit for real this time, playing with my iPod, sleeping in when I can, and catching up with friends and family. Although it is great to relax and to catch up with people, everytime I come back home I realize more and more that there really isn't anything for me here. Aside from there being few cultural activities or energy, I've lost touch with a lot of people. I guess that's just how things go though, people change and grow apart. Old friends stop having things in common with each anymore, or reach a point in their life where there's no longer any space for that old friendship. And I guess that it just is, and there isn't anything you can do but be glad for the good times you used to have and move on with your life.

There have been people that I've still been able to keep in touch with and other people who I've gotten to know better over the past year and I'm really glad about that. I've been through a lot of changes in the past couple of years and I'm thankful for those who were there for me, in big ways and in small ones.

Right now, I'm about to embark on the biggest adventure in my life so far and I know it will put me through even more changes. But then again, even now I don't think I'm the same person I used to be. I'm less willing to back down and stay silent. Less willing to apologize for being who I am. And I think that's just fine, because I like this person a lot better.

whoo, le tigre time...

" Look up to the sky sky sky
Take back your own tonight
You'll find more than you see It's time now now get ready
So you can taste that sweet sweet cake and
Feel the warm water in a lake (y'know)
What about the nice cool breeze and
Hear the buzzing of the bumble bees
Live past those neighborhood lives and
Go past that yard outside and
Push thru their greatest fears and
live past your memories tears cuz
You don't need to scratch inside just please
Hold onto your pride
So don't let them bring you down and
Don't let them fuck you around cuz
Those are your arms that is your heart and
No no they can't tear you apart
They can't take it away cuz
This is your time this is your life and
This is your time this is your life and
This is your time this is your life and
This is your time this is your life and..

keep on livin!"
